Well, it’s not really about ‘us’, more about ‘me!’ AlleyOops La Plagne is the brainchild of owner Jen. Hi – that’s me! 

I’ve been in La Plagne for too many winters to count now! I initially came out here as a seasonal worker for British Tour Operator, Mark Warner. I was planning on doing ‘just one winter’ as a gap year after university…

But as the story often goes, I never went back to ‘real-life.’ I spent about a decade working and travelling, winters in La Plagne and summers managing beach resorts in Egypt, Turkey, Corsica and more. 

With the arrival of our 2 little snow monsters, it was time to settle down – and nowhere has ever felt more like home than La Plagne. 

I now live summer and winter in La Plagne, surrounded by the stunning alpine scenery and motivated by the endless opportunities to hike and mountain bike in the summer and to snowboard with my partner and our children in the winter.

I decided to set up AlleyOops after realising how difficult it is to travel to the alps with small children and the amount of equipment they need – especially when your suitcases are full of warm winter clothing and ski equipment!

Plus, with winter 20/21 seeing a lot of the UK Tour Operators who used to offer operational childcare facilities no longer operating in La Plagne. It seemed like the perfect time to set up a kid’s equipment rental. 

I’m also trying to lead a cleaner, more environmentally friendly life and offering visitors to La Plagne the opportunity to rent things rather than buy more plastic bum boards, sledges and toys seem like a move in the right direction!
